/kudos @dana shipped the migration on a Friday

Recognition your team actually sees.

Praise buried in a DM helps nobody. Type /kudos, name the win, and the celebration lands in the channel — where the work happened.

How it works

Three beats, one 🎉

1

Type the kudos

/kudos @dana shipped the migration on a Friday

One line with the name and the reason, or bare /kudos to open the picker form. Specific beats generic — “fixed the flaky test” lands harder than “great job”.

2

The card posts in-channel

A 🎉 celebration card lands where the whole team already is — recipient, reason quoted for the record, zero extra apps to open.

3

The wins keep score

The leaderboard counts them and history remembers them: top ten by kudos received, anyone’s last twenty, on demand.

Features

The product, not a mockup

Every image below is Just Kudos running in a real Slack workspace — captured, not composed.

Give

Pick a face, name the win

The form asks exactly two questions — who, and what did they do. The reason shows in the channel, so vague praise has nowhere to hide.

Leaderboard

/kudos leaderboard posts the top ten teammates by kudos received. Celebrate the celebrated.

History

/kudos history @teammate shows anyone’s last twenty kudos — who gave each one and when. Only you see it.

FAQ

Asked and answered

Does it read our messages?

No. Just Kudos runs on two scopes — commands and chat:write. It never reads channel history or member profiles.

Can someone spam the leaderboard?

Every card is public — giver, recipient, and reason are on the record — self-kudos is refused, and reasons are capped at 500 characters. The top of the board reflects the team, not the most enthusiastic typer.

What happens when we uninstall?

Every row the app stores is deleted. Recognition shouldn’t be a hostage situation.

Where does the data live?

On your own server. Just Kudos is self-hosted — the leaderboard and history sit in your database, not on ours.

How do I install?

Click "Add to Slack", review and grant the requested scopes, then invite the bot to the channels where you want to give kudos with /invite @Just Kudos.

Is it really free?

Yes — unlimited kudos, no per-seat pricing. HeyTaco charges per user; we think recognition shouldn’t be a line item.
